About Moim
A survey practice, run from Busan
Moim Consulting is an independent marine survey and inspection practice covering Korea and Japan. We are instructed by owners, buyers, P&I clubs, banks and charterers, and we act for one of them at a time.
Moim was established in Busan to give foreign principals a resident pair of eyes in North Asia — the region where a great deal of the world's tonnage is built, repaired and sold, and where an overseas owner, club or lender has the least direct visibility.
The practice is built around seagoing officers and engineers rather than career office inspectors.
We hold no yard relationships that could compromise a finding, and we decline instructions where we have acted for the other side.
Independence
A survey is only worth what its independence is worth. We act for the instructing party alone, we disclose any prior involvement with the vessel or the counterparty before accepting, and our fee never depends on what we find.
QHSE
Our surveyors work to a documented HSSE management system. No survey finding is worth an injury: where an inspection cannot be carried out safely — enclosed space entry without proper gas-freeing, staging that is not fit to climb — we stop and report it as a limitation.
